Free Pallet Removal for Your Business

Stacks of empty pallets eat up valuable floor space, create safety hazards, and cost money to dispose of. Pallets West Coast removes them for free. Why We Do It

Why Is Pallet Removal Free?

It is a fair question. The answer is simple: your used pallets have value to us. Even damaged pallets contain usable lumber, and pallets in decent shape can be repaired and resold. The value of the material we recover covers the cost of collection and then some.

This creates a win-win scenario. You get rid of pallets that are taking up space and creating trip hazards, and we get raw material for our recycling and repair operations. No tipping fees, no disposal costs, no hidden charges.

In many cases, if you have large quantities of high-quality pallets (GMA 48x40 in good condition, for example), we may actually pay you for them. Our team will assess the pallets during pickup and let you know if a buyback makes sense.

Your Benefits at a Glance

  • Zero Cost

No pickup fees, no hauling charges, no contracts required. The service is genuinely free.

  • Reclaimed Floor Space

Empty pallets can consume hundreds of square feet. Removal gives that space back to revenue-generating operations.

  • Reduced Liability

Pallet stacks are a common source of warehouse injuries -- falling stacks, nail punctures, and trip hazards. Regular removal reduces your risk profile.

  • Environmental Responsibility

Every pallet we pick up is reused or recycled, not landfilled. You get documentation for sustainability reports.

  • Potential Revenue

High-quality cores may qualify for our buyback program. Turn waste into income.

Simple Process

How Pallet Removal Works

Four straightforward steps from cluttered dock to clean floor. Most new accounts see their first pickup within 48 to 72 hours of contacting us.

01

Contact Us

Call, email, or fill out the form on this page. Let us know your location, the approximate number of pallets, and whether they are stacked or scattered. Photos are helpful but not required.

02

Schedule Your Pickup

We will coordinate a pickup window that fits your operations. For recurring accounts, we set up a standing schedule -- weekly, biweekly, or monthly -- so you never have to think about it again. First pickups for new accounts are typically scheduled within 48 to 72 hours.

03

We Load and Haul

Our crew arrives with a flatbed or enclosed truck, loads the pallets from your dock or staging area, and hauls them to our processing facility. You do not need to provide labor or equipment -- our team handles everything.

04

Pallets Get a Second Life

Back at our yard, pallets are sorted, graded, repaired, or recycled. Reusable pallets re-enter the supply chain. End-of-life material becomes mulch, biomass fuel, or animal bedding. Nothing goes to waste.

Minimum Quantities

For a standalone pickup, we typically ask for a minimum of one full stack -- roughly 15 to 20 pallets. This makes the trip economical for our drivers and keeps the service free for you.

For businesses on a recurring schedule, we are more flexible. If you generate a dozen pallets per week, a weekly stop makes sense even though each pickup is smaller.

Very small quantities (under 10 pallets) can often be combined with nearby stops on our existing routes. Just ask -- we will work with you.

Scheduling Options

We offer flexible scheduling to match your operations:

  • One-time pickup: For businesses clearing out an accumulation of pallets. We can usually schedule within 2-3 business days.
  • Weekly service: Ideal for high-volume warehouses and distribution centers. Same day, same time, every week.
  • Biweekly or monthly: For mid-volume locations like retail stores or smaller manufacturers.
  • On-call: You notify us when you have a full stack ready, and we dispatch within 48 hours.

Service Area

Our removal fleet operates throughout the Pacific Northwest and into Northern California. Regular route coverage includes:

  • Eugene / Springfield, OR
  • Portland Metro, OR
  • Salem / Corvallis, OR
  • Medford / Grants Pass, OR
  • Bend / Redmond, OR
  • Seattle / Tacoma, WA
  • Vancouver / Olympia, WA
  • Northern California (Redding to Sacramento)

Outside these areas? Contact us -- we frequently arrange pickups along our delivery routes.

Who We Serve

Businesses That Benefit from Free Removal

Warehouses & DCs

Incoming shipments leave behind hundreds of pallets per week. Without regular removal, they pile up fast and consume floor space you need for inventory.

Retail Stores

Big-box and grocery retailers receive palletized freight daily. Most stores lack the space or equipment to break down and dispose of pallets properly.

Manufacturers

Production facilities use pallets for raw material staging and finished goods shipping. Damaged pallets accumulate at both ends of the process.

Construction Sites

Building materials arrive on pallets that have no further use on-site. We remove them so your crew can focus on the build, not waste management.

Volume Benefits

Volume Tiers and Buyback Rates

Removal is always free, but if your pallets are in good condition, you may qualify for our buyback program. The more pallets you have and the better their condition, the more you can earn.

Before We Arrive

How to Prepare for Pallet Pickup

A little preparation makes pickup faster and more efficient. Follow these guidelines and our crew will be in and out with minimal disruption to your operations.

01

Stack Pallets Upright

Stack pallets flat, right-side-up, in stacks of 15-20. Neat stacks load faster and fit more on our truck, which means fewer trips and faster service.

02

Stage Near Loading Area

Place pallet stacks as close to your loading dock or truck-accessible area as possible. Our crew will handle loading, but proximity to the truck cuts service time significantly.

03

Separate by Condition

If possible, separate good-condition pallets from heavily damaged ones. This allows us to give you an accurate buyback count on the spot rather than sorting at our facility.

04

Remove Non-Pallet Materials

Clear away shrink wrap, banding, cardboard, and other debris from pallet stacks. We pick up pallets, not mixed waste. Contaminated loads may require additional processing fees.

05

Ensure Access for Our Truck

Make sure there is room for a 48-foot flatbed or 26-foot box truck to pull in, turn, and load. Let us know in advance if you have height restrictions, narrow alleys, or dock-only access.

06

Designate a Contact Person

Have a dock supervisor or point of contact available when our crew arrives. They can direct our team to the pallets and sign off on the pickup count. Not required, but speeds up the process.

What to Expect

Your First Pickup: Step by Step

Never had pallets picked up before? Here is exactly what happens from the moment you contact us to the time your dock is clear.

Day 1: You Contact Us

Fill out the form on this page, call us, or send an email. Include your location, estimated pallet count, and whether you prefer a one-time pickup or recurring service. We respond within one business day with a proposed schedule.

Day 1-2: Confirmation

We confirm the pickup date and provide a 2-hour arrival window. For recurring accounts, we lock in your standing schedule. You will receive a reminder call or text the day before your first pickup.

Pickup Day: Arrival

Our driver arrives within the scheduled window with a flatbed or box truck. The crew locates your pallets, counts them, and begins loading. Typical load times range from 15 to 45 minutes depending on quantity and staging.

Pickup Day: Documentation

Before departing, our driver provides a pickup receipt showing the count, pallet types, and condition grades. If pallets qualify for buyback, the amount will be noted on the receipt. Payment for buyback pallets is processed within 7-10 business days.

Post-Pickup: Processing

Your pallets are transported to our facility where they are sorted, graded, and either repaired for reuse, dismantled for salvage, or processed into mulch, biomass, or bedding. Nothing goes to waste.

Common Questions About Pickup

Do I need to be present?
Not necessarily. If your pallets are staged in an accessible area and a dock worker can point our crew in the right direction, you do not need to be present. For buyback assessments, having someone available to review and sign the receipt is helpful.
What if it rains?
We operate in all weather conditions. This is the Pacific Northwest -- if we waited for dry days, nothing would get picked up. Rain does not affect pallet quality or our ability to load safely.
Can you pick up from multiple locations?
Absolutely. We coordinate multi-site programs for businesses with several locations. Each site gets its own schedule, and we consolidate reporting for your operations or sustainability team.
Is there a contract or commitment?
No. Our removal service is completely non-contractual. You can cancel recurring pickups at any time with no penalty. Most clients stay because the service is reliable and free, not because they are locked in.

Scheduling Calendar Tips

  • Monday and Tuesday: Lightest pickup days -- best availability for new accounts and one-time pickups.
  • Wednesday and Thursday: Heaviest route days. Recurring accounts are scheduled on these days for maximum route efficiency.
  • Friday: Overflow and catch-up day. Good for flexible-timing accounts and larger one-time cleanouts.
  • Weekend: Not standard, but available by special arrangement for facilities that operate 7 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Pallet Removal FAQ

Is pallet removal truly free, with no hidden fees?

Yes. We do not charge for pickup, loading, hauling, or processing of standard wood pallets. The value of the recovered material covers our costs. The only scenario where a fee might apply is if the load contains significant non-pallet waste (cardboard, plastic, mixed debris), which requires additional sorting and disposal. In those rare cases, we discuss the fee before pickup so there are no surprises.

What is the minimum number of pallets for a free pickup?

For standalone pickups, we ask for a minimum of one full stack (approximately 15-20 pallets). For businesses on recurring schedules, we are flexible on individual pickup quantities since the route efficiency justifies smaller stops. If you have fewer than 15 pallets, contact us anyway -- we may be able to add you to an existing route nearby.

Do you pick up non-standard pallets (oversized, chemical, plastic)?

We accept all standard wood pallets regardless of size or style. Chemically treated pallets (CCA, creosote) are accepted but processed separately. We do not pick up plastic pallets, metal pallets, or pallets contaminated with hazardous materials. If you have a mixed load, let us know ahead of time and we will advise on what we can take.

How quickly can you schedule the first pickup?

Most new accounts see their first pickup within 48 to 72 hours of contacting us. For businesses located on or near our existing routes, same-week service is very common. If you need urgent removal (fire code compliance, upcoming inspection), let us know and we will prioritize your request.

Can you remove pallets from inside a warehouse, not just the dock?

Our standard service covers loading from your dock or any truck-accessible staging area. If pallets are stored inside the warehouse and require internal transport to the dock, we can discuss arranging that service. For facilities with a forklift and operator, we typically ask that pallets be staged at the dock for the fastest and most efficient pickup.
